Meet the Team: Lorenzo, Team Programmer - Devlog 16/10/2023

Hey there! It’s been a couple weeks, so here comes another little devlog for you. Today, we’re going on the second (and probably final) Meet The Team segment of our devlog, this time with yours truly. I’m not gonna hold you guys back any longer than necessary today, so let’s get straight to it.

I believe I haven’t really introduced myself yet, so here goes: I’m Lorenzo, a brazilian developer and the person responsible for most of the systems and puzzles you will use and encounter in Twilight Glow. While I do dabble in game design, and am the person responsible for the majority of the puzzles in our game, I must be honest and say that my passion really is in programming.

I actually always knew I’d enjoy programming ever since I was like, 9? Maybe 10?, but for some reason I didn’t really get around to actually studying it on my own time until I was 13. It might be a bit surprising, but at first I started with robotics! Especially industrial automation. Though I always enjoyed and played games my whole life (my mother still says that the computer screen is part of my face), it took me quite some time to actually start developing and transitioning fully to a game developer.

I haven’t been in the industry for long, but I’ve always been a solo developer so far, so even though it has been challenging, I must say I enjoy it. Recently I’ve taken an interest (no short due to some amazing creators like Freya Hólmer and Sebastian Lague, which if you don’t already know, I implore you to check them out!) into Tech Art as well, especially in regards to shader coding, and so I hope I get to show some cool visuals for you guys as well as those you will see from a.lina.

I feel like I probably went a little overboard above, but hopefully it was an enjoyable read (for varying definitions of enjoyable). Once again, I thank you for checking us out and hope to be able to share some exciting stuff in the future!
