Character Customization - Devlog 30/10/2023
Hello hello there! We're coming here for another devlog, and this week, we'd like to talk to you a bit about customization options - both cosmetic and gameplay wise - that will be available to you on release.
We've talked a bit before on how your choices throughtout the major temples in the game will impact the story and the environment, but they'll also have lasting impacts on your character too! As the main catalyst of change in the world, and the bearer of these celestial powers, your character's appearance will begin to morph itself to better represent the path you choose, and by consequence, the role you attain as a member of the Celestials. We could say you will experience a certain.. glowup, if you will.
But besides just cosmetics, your appearance will also have objects that affect the way you play the game and traverse the environment. As some may have seen in our previous "Meet your Character" devlog, our diligent protagonist has to itself a very trusty cape, one of the main aspects of their design. But this cape isnt just for show!
While playing, you may run into two certain unfamiliar yet charming crystals. Usually hidden away in tricky and difficult to access places , however, if you are able to get a hold of them, they will turn into very useful trinkets. These crystals - which I will refer to as collectables from now on - will be able to be expended during the game for useful upgrades to your cape, which will both alter their appearance and their effect on your main tool, the Celestial Glow.
These effects will alter the way your Glow behaves in comparison to its default state, and will be available as useful ways to move across the world and to tune your playstyle.
